Mini Breadboards — Guided Circuit Exploration
Mini Breadboards — Guided Circuit Exploration Days: 1 Mode: Pairs or individual Take-home: Small working circuit; reusable breadboard stays at school
Teaching & key ideas
Key concepts: Breadboard layout, closed circuits, polarity, series/parallel possibilities, troubleshooting.
Hook: Build a tiny LED circuit live without soldering.
Test / evidence: Student creates at least one functioning circuit and can explain the current path.
Variables to change: Number/color of LEDs; switch placement; resistor value if appropriate.
Lesson flow
Lesson plan:
Day 1: Breadboard orientation demo → complete one starter circuit → guided choice challenge → share/troubleshoot
Safety / cleanup:
Low-voltage only; teacher checks battery connections; LEDs/resistors are small parts.
