1. Straw Oboe
Materials: Straw flattened/cut into reed shape; scissors
What you do: Teacher blows into prepared straw reed.
What students see: Straw buzzes loudly like an instrument.
Question: What part is actually vibrating?
2. Balloon Whistle
Materials: Balloon; hex nut or small object inside
What you do: Place nut in balloon, inflate, then swirl balloon safely.
What students see: A loud whirring/whistling sound develops.
Question: Why does spinning make sound?
3. Pendulum Resonance Push
Materials: Pendulum; gentle periodic pushes or magnetic driver
What you do: Push at matching rhythm vs random rhythm.
What students see: Small timed pushes build very large swings.
Question: Why do tiny pushes become a big motion only at the right rhythm?
