Materials: White plate; warm water; Skittles
What you do: Arrange candies in ring and add shallow water.
What students see: Colored stripes spread inward.
Question: Why do the colors stay in lanes for a while?
3. Water-Drop Magnifier
Materials: Clear plastic sheet; printed tiny text; dropper; water
What you do: Place a round water drop above small print.
What students see: Text appears enlarged.
