Grouping: Individual
Take-home: Paper rocket
Key ideas: Air pressure, aerodynamics, fins, nose cones, stability, launch angle, data collection.
Start with: Launch two teacher rockets with visibly different fin/nose configurations.
Success check: Repeated measured launches with one design change.
Try changing: Fin area/number; nose shape/mass; body length; launch angle.
Preparation: Build/test launcher; print nosecone/launcher parts if used.
Lesson flow: Day 1: Build + fit rocket to launch tube → low-power test
Day 2: Controlled launches → measure → redesign fins/nose → final launch
Safety and cleanup: Outdoor/large clear launch zone; teacher operates launcher; never aim toward people; inspect PVC/pressure system.
