Weave real cloth on small rigid-heddle looms using yarn, color changes, stripes, and simple texture techniques.
Grades: 1st; advanced K with pre-warped loom
Independence: Teacher-supported limited-seat station
For younger students: Teacher does all warping. K uses a fully pre-warped loom and simple back-and-forth weaving; 1st can learn heddle up/down, shuttle passing, beating, and color changes.
Independent work: Treat this as a premium limited-seat station rather than a whole-class activity. Photograph each loom before cleanup so students can resume accurately.
Lesson flow: Teach the setup and visual routine first, then open as a rotating station when students can begin, work, and clean up independently.
Safety and cleanup: Follow the teacher notes and supervise any activity marked Teacher-supported.
